Pollival Eye Drops provide quick relief from eye allergy symptoms with anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory action. They are free from preservatives and phosphates and come in an innovative COMOD® delivery system, which ensures long shelf life and sterility.
Pollival Eye Drops (Azelastine Hydrochloride 0.5 mg/ml)
- Seasonal allergic conjunctivitis: For treatment and prevention in adults and children aged 4 years and older.
- Non-seasonal (perennial) allergic conjunctivitis: For treatment in adults and children aged 12 years and older.

✔️ Side Effects:
May include headache, dizziness, bitter taste, stinging or itching in the eyes, dry mouth, sore throat, sneezing, or nosebleeds.
✔️ How It Works
The active ingredient, azelastine hydrochloride, is a potent, long-acting antihistamine (H1 receptor antagonist) with additional anti-inflammatory properties. It blocks histamine and other inflammatory mediators such as leukotrienes, platelet-activating factor (PAF), and serotonin, reducing redness, itching, and swelling in allergic eye conditions.
✔️ Dosage & Administration
- Seasonal allergic conjunctivitis (≥4 years): 1 drop in each eye twice daily; may increase to 4 times daily if needed. It can be used preventively before allergen exposure.
- Non-seasonal allergic conjunctivitis (≥12 years): Same dosing as above.
- Maximum recommended treatment duration: 6 weeks. Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or fail to improve within 48 hours.
- Not established for children under 4 years (seasonal use) or under 12 years (non-seasonal use).

Caution with alcohol, CNS depressants, cimetidine, and ketoconazole.
✔️ Contraindications:
Do not use if allergic to azelastine or any component of the formulation.
✔️ Precautions & Warnings
Use with caution if pregnant or breastfeeding—only if benefits outweigh potential risks.
Drowsiness (somnolence) has been reported; avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.
Avoid alcohol or other central nervous system depressants during use.
