✔️ Indications:

Evit (d-alpha tocopherol) capsule is used for the treatment and prevention of Evit deficiency. It is also recommended as an antioxidant to help manage and prevent various health conditions, such as:

• Alzheimer’s Disease

• Nerve Damage Caused by Chemotherapy

✔️ Dosage & Administration

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to vitamin E.

Diarrhea and abdominal pain may occur with doses greater than 1000 IU daily.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

• There is no evidence supporting the safety of high doses of vitamin E during pregnancy, thus it should not be used, especially in the first trimester.
• No information is available on excretion in breast milk; therefore, it is advisable not to use it during lactation.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Evit has been reported to increase bleeding tendency in vitamin K deficient patients or those taking anticoagulant treatments. It is therefore recommended to monitor the prothrombin time and international normalized ratio (INR) to detect any changes in hemostasis.
• Evit has been reported to increase the risk of thrombosis in patients predisposed to this condition, including patients taking estrogens. This should be considered when selecting patients for treatment, particularly women taking oral contraceptives containing estrogens.
