Rivadem 1.5 functions by inhibiting cholinesterase enzymes responsible for breaking down acetylcholine, a key neurotransmitter involved in memory and learning. Avoid using Rivadem 1.5mg if:
- You are allergic to Rivastigmine or other carbamate derivatives (e.g., meprobamate)
- You are already using another formulation of Rivastigmine (e.g., transdermal patch)
- You are taking beta-blockers like acebutolol, atenolol, betaxolol, bisoprolol, as these may interact with Rivadem 1.5
- Your dementia is not related to Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease
- You are scheduled for surgery — notify your doctor, as this medicine may interact with anesthesia
